- Program Details
The Urban Ultra Poor Program (UUPP) reaches out to the most destitute families in urban slum communities and is aimed at tackling urban poverty through holistic interventions in five areas: Livelihood Development Healthcare Support Financial Literacy & Financial Services Childcare & Education Support and Social Support. After 12 months families have a stable level of income can send their children to school regularly know where to receive quality and affordable medical care have proof of identity and address to prove their existence access government benefits and save regularly in a bank account.
The program has covered 16000 families in 230 communities in Bangalore.
- PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program :
As a program manager you will implement all the interventions of the Urban Ultra Poor Program along with the field coordinators and community workers.
Some of the key interventions/activities are:
General activities
- Identifying Urban ultra-poor communities
- Conducting a baseline survey and analyzing the baseline survey
- Conducting program orientation
- Program analysis and the conduction of graduation events
Supervise the Field staff to ensure that they follow the intervention
Child Care and Education
- Establishing tuition centers in the communities
- Organizing monthly teachers training and regular tuition center tracking
- Plan and execute summer camps
Livelihood
- Job facilitation Self-employment training asset distribution Self-employment tracking
- Monthly Livelihood tracking Identifying youth for skill training and Job facilitation for youths.
Financial Inclusion
- Conducting financial literacy training distributing financial diaries opening bank accounts and Loan facilitation.
Health Camp
- Organizing Health camps Conducting health education training and Vaccination facilitation for eligible children.
Social Security
- Enrolling eligible beneficiaries in Ayushman Bharat E-Shram Labour Card schemes
- Organizing Social events
Reporting and Management:
- Create a project management plan and provide the field staff with a detailed implementation plan for monthly and weekly
- Creating SOPs training modules and providing necessary training to the field staff
- Create a budget and monitor expenditures against budgetary targets.
- Making monthly quarterly and yearly reports for donors and management.
- Monthly program review with the management and weekly review with the project team
Desired Qualification
Bachelor s degree
Desired Experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Project Management
- Inclination and passion for the Social Sector preferably working with ultra-poor community
- Excellent abilities to build and maintain stakeholder relationships
- Experience with managing a fairly large and dispersed team.
- Strong leadership qualities
- Must have good speaking and writing skills in English
- Knowledge of Kannada is a must.
- FUNCTIONAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

- Up-to-date knowledge of project management
- Good knowledge of technical site-related works Ability to address issues
- Must handle MIS reports and expense analysis independently related works.
