Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Technical Animator to work closely with our CG team. Youll work with animators vfx artists VFX supervisors to work on muscle simulation create rigs and ensure that assets perform beautiful animation while meeting artistic and technical needs.
Responsibilities:
- Design build and maintain character creature and object rigs (including deformation facial and dynamics setups).
- Develop and optimize animation workflows tools and pipelines for VFX and in-game integration.
- Collaborate with VFX & animation teams to ensure high-quality visual fidelity and efficient performance.
- Implement physics simulations procedural animations and technical solutions for dynamic effects.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues with rigs skeletons skinning and animation assets.
- Provide technical support to animators and artists regarding tools best practices and new techniques.
- Stay up to date with industry trends tools and technologies recommending improvements as needed.
Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency in rigging and skinning (preferably using Maya Houdini or Blender).
- Solid understanding of human animal anatomy & physics.
- Familiarity with real-time engines (Unreal Engine Unity) and VFX pipelines will be an add on bonus.
- Knowledge of simulation systems like cloth hair soft body dynamics and destruction effects.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
- Experience with scripting languages (Python MEL or similar) will be an add on bonus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong technical mindset.
Preferred Experience:
5 years as a Technical Animator and/or Rigging Artist or similar role in film TV
