Job Description
Set-up and Location: Onsite/WFH (Ortigas Alabang Pampanga or Cebu)
Work Schedule: 9:00 AM-6:00 PM (AEST) 7:00 AM-4:00 (PH Time)

We are seeking a skilled Building Designer with a minimum of 3 years experience in the Australian residential building design industry. This role is ideal for a motivated detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for efficient buildable design outcomes tailored for volume builders and developers.
The successful candidate will work closely with the broader design and drafting team to assist in the production of residential home projects from initial concepts preliminary and working drawing stages. A deep understanding of Australian construction codes NCC/BCA and QDC compliance estate covenants and builder processes is essential.
What You ll Do
- Complete design and documentation of residential projects including single and double-storey homes.
- Liaise with team leader to understand design briefs site constraints and requirements.
- Develop concept and working drawings that are NCC compliant and tailored to volume construction methods.
- Translate sketch designs and builder mark-ups into high-quality ArchiCAD documentation sets.
- Ensure all work aligns with relevant Australian standards local council planning overlays and client-specific design guidelines.
- Attend daily morning meetings (via teams).
- Deliver projects on time and within scope while managing revisions and builder feedback
Requirements
What You Bring
Were looking for someone who:
- Minimum 3 years professional experience as a Building Designer or Architectural Technician in the residential sector preferably with a volume builder or design company.
- Advanced proficiency in ArchiCAD (22 or later versions) with strong modelling documentation and template navigation skills.
- Solid understanding of residential construction methods and the Australian regulatory framework (NCC/BCA planning schemes etc.).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines concurrently in a high-volume environment.
- Excellent attention to detail spatial problem-solving skills and time management.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain design decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable but Not Essential
- Diploma of Building Design Bachelor of Building Design Architectural Design or equivalent.
- Previous experience working within a design team servicing builders across Queensland & New South Wales.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have: A minimum of 3 years of experience in drafting is required for the position. Preferably had experience in precast concrete industry. In-depth understanding of steels moulds and precast concrete Experienced in creating CAD drawings from quotes, architectural documents, hand sketches, verbal instructions, and site visits. Demonstrable experience with MS Office, cloud technology and digital solutions. Experience using Inventor Software and AutoCAD 2004 or greater. Working knowledge of relevant computer programs (e.g., CRM software) and telephone system.
