About the role
Were looking for a hands-on Corporate Accounting Manager to help elevate and scale Canvas accounting operations. This is a high-impact individual contributor role with full ownership of key close activities reporting processes and operational accounting areas. Youll play a critical role in shortening the close calendar strengthening controls and partnering cross-functionally with teams across the business including FP&A Tax Finance Systems and Team Spend while helping prepare Canva for public company readiness.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments enjoys solving problems and wants to build processes from the ground up. What youd be doing in this role
As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think thats all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things youll be working on when you start but this will likely evolve.
At the moment this role is focused on:
Own key GL areas related to OPEX ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Lead monthly close activities including journal entries reconciliations flux analysis and related reporting deliverables.
Drive automation and process improvements that reduce manual work and accelerate close timelines.
Strengthen internal controls and support SOX readiness audit requirements and documentation.
Act as a thought partner across the business to simplify financial processes and elevate financial understanding company-wide.
Youre probably a match if
Accounting experience in both high-growth and public company environments. CPA certification or equivalent required.
Strong understanding of US GAAP SOX compliance and close operations.
A hands-on individual contributor mindset with a passion for building and improving accounting processes.
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced high-change environment with strong attention to detail.
Interest in automation and leveraging technology to streamline accounting workflows.

At Canva we value fairness and we strive to provide competitive market-informed compensation whilst ensuring internal equity within the team in each region. We make hiring decisions based on your skills experience and our overall assessment of what we observed and learnt in the hiring process. The target salary range for this position is $161000 - $206000. When calculating offers we make salary decisions based on market data and candidates skills and experience.
