POSITION OVERVIEW
Thompson Truck Group is searching for a Diesel Mechanic in our Cookeville TN locationwho can perform high quality maintenance and repairs on heavy duty commercial vehicles. The successful candidate for this role will successfully analyze and troubleshoot truck issues on all models of International brand trucks and various other heavy duty trucks and vehicles. Need to word that they will or may work on all models and makes of commercial vehicles.
Diesel Truck Mechanics can expect to:
Perform assigned tasks in compliance with all TTG policies procedures and Best Practices
Complete and keep accurate records on repair orders
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Promote a team environment through support of other technicians
Maintain a commitment to a high-level of customer service
POSITION MINIMUM & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent special technical training
Basic knowledge of medium and heavy-duty commercial trucks to include:
engine and driveline
electrical and cap and suspension
air hydraulic and full power brake systems
inspection and lubrication
cab frame front axle steering gear & springs
clutch transmission and differential
engine tune up
overhaul major components
Basic knowledge of trailer repair and preventative maintenance
Basic computer skills and knowledge
EPA 609 Certification
Current and active Class A CDL license and DOT Certification CDL not required but a plus
Previous experience working with International brand trucks preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Provide own hand tools up to inch drive.
Exposure to hazardous waste and materials loud noise and extreme heat/cold.
Frequent climbing standing stooping bending and kneeling.
Ability to lift minimum 150 lbs.
