Description

Job Title: Subsea Project Manager

Job Summary:

The Subsea Project Manager is accountable for the successful delivery of subsea projects from concept through execution and handover. This includes managing engineering procurement fabrication installation and commissioning (EPIC) activities for subsea systems such as SURF (Subsea Umbilicals Risers and Flowlines) trees manifolds and control systems. The Project Manager leads a multidisciplinary team to ensure technical integrity budget control schedule adherence and HSSE compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the full lifecycle of subsea field development projects (greenfield or brownfield).
  • Oversee project planning cost control resource allocation risk management and stakeholder communication.
  • Manage EPIC execution of subsea systems including:
    • Subsea hardware (trees manifolds jumpers connectors)
    • SURF systems (umbilicals risers flowlines)
    • Subsea control systems and topside interfaces
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams including engineering procurement QA/QC HSE and offshore execution.
  • Coordinate with clients regulatory bodies classification societies and subcontractors.
  • Ensure all project deliverables meet technical requirements specifications and industry codes (API ISO DNV).
  • Track project KPIs progress milestones change orders and risk registers.
  • Approve major technical and commercial decisions supported by risk and cost-benefit analysis.
  • Oversee readiness reviews (Design FAT SIT ITRs) and support offshore campaigns.
  • Drive safety culture lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Subsea Mechanical Petroleum Offshore or Project Engineering.
  • 1015 years of experience in the offshore oil & gas industry including 5 years in project management roles.
  • Proven track record managing subsea development projects in deepwater/high-pressure environments.
  • Familiar with PM tools (Primavera P6 MS Project SAP Document Control Systems).
  • Strong knowledge of subsea systems engineering installation commissioning and lifecycle operations.
  • Excellent leadership communication and client-facing skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

  • PMP MPM or equivalent project management certification.
  • Offshore experience (SURF campaigns vessel mobilization commissioning).
  • Familiar with project delivery under various contracting models (EPC EPCI Lump Sum Turnkey).
  • Budget experience >$50MM USD (or regionally relevant).
  • Offshore survival training (e.g. BOSIET/FOET) is a plus.
