David Mindess Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and energetic Long-Term Substitute Physical Education (PE) Teacher to cover a leave of absence from the start of the school year through approximately the end of October. The substitute will be responsible for delivering a standards-based physical education curriculum that promotes physical fitness skill development teamwork and sportsmanship. This position serves students in grades 35 and emphasizes creating a safe inclusive and engaging learning environment where all students can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with the other PE teacher to ensure consistent instruction share resources and support school-wide fitness goals.
Create a positive and structured learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
Plan and implement age-appropriate physical activities that promote fitness motor skills and cooperation.
Adapt lessons to meet the needs of diverse learners including students with disabilities.
Monitor student performance and maintain accurate records of participation effort and skill development.
Ensure student safety and proper use of equipment during physical activities.
Collaborate with classroom teachers and school staff to support students overall development.
Communicate effectively with families and caregivers as needed.
Uphold school and district policies and maintain high expectations for student behavior.
