PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Assist in the smooth and efficient operation of the schools main office and in the maintenance of student records and reports of student attendance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or GED
Two (2) years of college or business/technical school preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Demonstrated knowledge of office equipment/machines especially personal computer units; manage multiple assignments; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); ability to communicate in both English and Spanish preferred
Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in performing multiple office tasks preferred

Hourly Pay Range:
Minimum: $13.00
Maximum: $18.20
Note:Starting pay for a new hire in a pay range plan will be determined individually based on each persons job-related experience and salaries paid to peer employees in the same position with similar experience.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assist in registering and withdrawing students.
2. Obtain pertinent student information from appropriate source.
3. Assist in maintaining all attendance records and reports and input information into the computer.
4. Attend district training as appropriate.
5. Produce student absence reports and report student truancy.
6. Type copy and distribute school notes and distribute building mail and community/district flyers.
7. Perform other routine office tasks such as answering telephone calls typing filing etc.
8. Order and maintain inventory of office supplies and receive and verify incoming supplies.
9. Administer medication and first aid according to policy and regulation in the absence of the school nurse.
10. Assist other office staff as appropriate (answer phone administer medication help out students etc.).
11. Assist students teachers and parents as needed.
12. Maintain discretion and confidentiality.
13. Follow McAllen ISD customer service standards.
14. Perform other duties assigned by immediate supervisor (primary evaluator).
