Collins Aerospace is seeking a highly motivated and talented Senior Data Science Engineer with a strong interest in AI/ML and advanced analytics to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing and applying data science techniques to solve complex customer problems. This role will involve hands-on experience in machine learning statistical analysis and data-driven decision-making to help shape the data strategy and drive insights from large varied datasets.
What You Will Do:
- Collaborate with data and subject matter experts and customer teams to seek understand validate interpret and correctly use data and business insights
- Train validate and deploy machine learning pipelines
- Test troubleshoot and enhance customer software applications with and on behalf of customers
- Identify application performance bottlenecks and implement optimizations
- Write application specifications tutorials and documentation
Qualifications You Must Have:
- 3 years of experience solving complex problems using data science methods including applied machine learning (regression classification supervised and unsupervised learning) and time-series data analysis.
- Proficient in scalable machine learning (e.g. MapReduce streaming) and numpy panda data science libraries and skilled in data cleansing normalization and version control using Git or similar tools.
- Experience with machine learning model training and analysis through open-source frameworks (Pytorch Tensorflow Sklearn) and analyzing model performance with relevant metrics and optimizing.
- Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- MS/PhD in Computer Science Electrical Engineering Statistics or equivalent STEM fields with a strong foundation in linear algebra calculus probability and statistics.
- Able to work independently drive projects autonomously and contribute effectively in team settings.
- Skilled in improving processes systems or products mentoring junior engineers and addressing complex multi-faceted problems.
- Knowledgeable motivated ethical and focused on advancing organizational goals with strong verbal and written communication skills.

The salary range for this role is 90000 USD - 182000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
