Job Description

High Point University invites applications for a full-time non-tenure-track Assistant Professor of Visual Arts beginning in August of 2025.

Responsibilities:The successful candidate will: teach a 3-3 load of undergraduate studio courses per year including ceramics and at least two of the three foundation courses (drawing 2D design 3D design); participate in innovative teaching and curriculum development; conduct and disseminate scholarship and/or juried creative activity as appropriate to appointment; advise and mentor undergraduate students; and actively participate in department school and university committees.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master of Fine Arts;
  • Teaching experience appropriate to rank;
  • Effective oral and written communication skills;
  • Evidence of a program of research and/or creative scholarship appropriate to rank.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Evidence of focus on student-centered learning;
  • Evidence of participation in innovative teaching and curriculum development;
  • Ability to interact with colleagues in a team environment.
  • Experience within a program that is NASAD accredited.
