You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailWillow River Company is seeking a passionate and dedicated Woodland Restoration Technician to support native ecosystem recovery and long-term forest health in the St. Croix River Valley. This position involves hands-on ecological restoration work including invasive species removal native plantings erosion control and ecological monitoring in forested landscapes.
Key Responsibilities:Implement woodland restoration projects according to ecological best practices
Control invasive plant species using manual mechanical and chemical methods
Plant native trees shrubs and herbaceous species
Conduct site assessments and monitor vegetation and habitat conditions
Maintain restoration equipment and tools
Collaborate with restoration ecologists volunteers and landowners
Keep accurate field data and contribute to project reporting
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelors degree in ecology forestry or related field preferred)
Experience or coursework in natural resource management forestry or restoration ecology
Ability to perform strenuous outdoor work in all weather conditions
Knowledge of native and invasive plant identification
Comfort working with herbicides under supervision (applicators license a plus)
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
Preferred:
Chainsaw operation and maintenance experience (certification a plus)
Familiarity with GIS/GPS field mapping tools
Experience working with diverse teams or volunteer groups
First Aid/CPR certification
