Moderna is growing its global operations through an expansion of our Moderna Enterprise Solutions Hub (MESH) in Warsaw and we are seeking a Senior Analyst FP&A Research to play a critical role within our R&D Finance team. Based in Warsaw with a 70% onsite presence this individual contributor position offers a dynamic platform to support and evolve Modernas financial planning capabilities as our research pipeline scales globally.

In this hands-on role you will be the financial backbone for our research functionsupporting monthly close driving budget accuracy forecasting with precision and enhancing workforce planning initiatives. You will act as a liaison across departments offering analytical depth and insights that help drive strategic financial decisions. This position presents a unique opportunity to get close to cutting-edge financial data modeling and collaborate closely with senior finance leadership contributing directly to the engine behind Modernas scientific innovation.

Heres What Youll Do:

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Delivering expense accruals and coordinating monthly close processes with Accounting and Corporate FP&A teams.

  • Managing and evolving forecasting infrastructure through maintenance of data structures templates and tools across multiple research cost centers.

  • Serving as the primary finance liaison for headcount planning reconciling monthly figures tracking open roles and ensuring HR-Finance alignment.

  • Generating standard monthly cost center reports with actionable variance analysis and commentary for functional leaders.

  • Coordinating annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting cycles by consolidating inputs and engaging stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Supporting financial transparency and discipline through reporting analysis and scalable financial planning tools.

  • Driving continuous process improvement automation of manual workflows and identification of scalable solutions to enhance accuracy.

  • Partnering with internal stakeholders across functions to synchronize financial inputs and enhance alignment between financial strategy and operational goals.

  • Leveraging emerging digital tools and exploring opportunities to apply Generative AI to automate and improve FP&A processes.

Heres What Youll Need (Basic Qualifications):

  • Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Economics or a related field

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial planning and analysis

  • Expertise in data analytics and financial modeling with proficiency in tools such as Excel Power BI Tableau or similar

  • Strong understanding of US GAAP financial principles

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner to non-finance stakeholders

  • Fluent in English both verbal and written

Heres What Youll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications):

  • An MBA or professional certification (e.g. CFA CPA) preferred but not required

  • Previous experience in biotech/pharma is desirable yet not required

  • Experience with ERP systems and financial planning software

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines

  • Willingness to travel to Cambridge US headquarters as required
