Who We Are Looking For
We are currently seeking a hardworking Designer to support day-to-day operations in our Creative team. SJR Designers are self-starters who play a key role in ensuring SJR is seen as a leading agency in creative content solutions around the are executional creative strategists equal parts researcher visionary problem solver and communicator.
As part of the Creative team working alongside art directors producers and motion designers this position plays a key role in the creative work cycle actively driving the design of our projects forward from the development of concepts and implementation of approaches all the way through to execution.
No matter the size of the project you will be enthralled by the challenge and excited by the opportunity to create powerful visual assets capable of engaging readers and sometimes even moving them to action. Day in and day out our designers are not afraid to push boundaries and find innovative ways to communicate stories.

What Youll Do
- Create and execute best-in-class creative content from concept to execution:
- Execute creative that is innovative compelling and inherently sharable
- Design a range of marketing and editorial assets including digital and print collateral social visuals and presentation decks.
- Contribute to basic UX/UI design tasks for web experiences wireframes and interactive content.
- Develop clear engaging infographics and data visualizations that support narrative storytelling.
- Stay up to date with emerging design tools and technologies including AI-assisted design platforms.
- Create adaptable designs for a wide range of formats sizes and channels: desktop mobile social etc.
- Design key frames for social content animations storyboards and mood boards
- Present ideas to team(s) and successfully communicate content ideas references and the strategic rationale behind them
- Consistently follow client(s) brand and style guidelines
- Collaborate inclusively and openly with multidisciplinary teams such as Client Services Editorial Production and other creative team members to refine outputs that ladder up to client objectives and stays within client budgets.
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills when dealing with feedback and provide input.
- Manage time and workflow efficiently take responsibility for deadlines and delivery flag potential issues early work with the wider team to identify
solutions.
- Help to maintain an archive of all creative assets for easy viewing and access by key stakeholdersincluding following best practices for version control naming conventions and organization of files
- Actively review content and design to maintain quality control and to ensure all executions meet SJRs standards
- Support pitch development and client presentations as .
What Youll Bring
- Minimum 1 years of design experience in a fast-paced client-oriented environment (advertising or marketing agency background is an asset)
- Expert knowledge of Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop InDesign Illustrator).
- Fluency in After Effects is an asset
- Diverse portfolio showcasing a wide range of skills styles and high-quality work samples
- Strong command of design principles typography and colour theory
- Knowledge of various social media platforms and asset requirements and how to engage with different audiences
- Speed and agility; ability to work efficiently and effectively to manage high volume work on tight deadlines
- Experience collaborating with other creative team members and cross-functional departments using team communication and project management applications like Monday and MS Teams to ensure efficiency
- Detail-oriented organized and comfortable managing multiple projects and client feedback
- Flexible adaptable and proactive
- Proven ability to uphold brand and style guidelines and project objectives
- Natural curiosity and passion for design
