Job Purpose
The Billing Specialist oversees all areas regarding claims billing of Bethany Childrens Health Center for services and procedures rendered in inpatient and outpatient areas including medical therapy telemedicine and ancillary claims. The Specialist ensures that billing operations are accurate and efficient and that they conform to the generally accepted principles in the field.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Percent of Time
Assures inpatient and outpatient claims are processed correctly and sent to the proper payment entity in a timely manner.

Audits claims to ensure accurate claims submission and payment in accordance with the services provided contracts and Medicaid fee schedules. Submits secondary claims to Medicaid.

Completes Accounts Receivable follow-up by review of accounts receivable aging reports and Identifies and trouble shoot denials outstanding or unpaid claims.

Assures patient statements are accurate and sent timely and handles patient account inquires.

Reconcile payment entries with the Accounting Departments deposit.

Assist with and prepare medical records for submission on claim appeals and resubmissions.
5%
Responsible for Oklahoma State Discharge Report.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
1 years of experience in medical billing and claims processing of Commercial Insurance preferred Medicaid and other billing forms required.
1 years of experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
