This opportunity is for both theIntegrated Ontario Works Benefits Caseworkerand Integrated Ontario Works Wraparound Caseworker. Interviewing and testing will be held the week of July 21st. You will be contacted if you are selected to participate.

This is a continuous posting based on operational needs and will be used to fill upcomingopportunities within the coming months. These opportunities may include Temporary Full Time or Casual hours.

SALARY

$40.93 - $44.48 per hour
This position is a unionized role with York Region CUPE Local 4900

ABOUT THE ROLES

Integrated Ontario Works Benefits Caseworker

Reporting to the Supervisor Social Assistance this position serves as the primary point of contact for clients and is responsible for providing a full range of functions of the Ontario Works program to determine clients financial and program eligibility in an empathetic client centred manner; including conducting Verification Interviews monitoring and conducting ongoing financial and benefits eligibility assessments/reviews and making determinations about potential reductions declinations or cancellation of assistance;responsible for benefit administration including completing applications; and works in close partnership with the Integrated Ontario Works Wraparound Caseworker and internal partners to provide an integrated client centric approach to serving their clients.

Integrated Ontario Works Wraparound Caseworker

Reporting to the Supervisor Social Assistance this position serves as the primary point of contact for clients and is responsible for developing and updating a detailed case plan setting client goals and monitoring progress as well as identifying and working collaboratively with specialized and enhanced wraparound services internally and externally to meet with clients needs; overseeing/coordinating all aspects of a clients case; providing intensive case management to Ontario Works clients in an empathetic client centred manner; providing transition support services; working with a team of internal and external support to coordinate all aspects of the clients case and address service needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Successful completion of a Community College Diploma (a minimum two (2) year program) in a relevant field or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in a human services environment managing caseloads of clients with complex needs requiring regular and ongoing follow ups.
  • Satisfactory Police Criminal Background Check.
  • Demonstrated active listening skills empathy and flexibility to support clients needs while maintaining a client centred approach within a rules based system.
  • Demonstrated empathy and compassion to build lasting trusting and respectful relationships required to fully understand client needs.
  • Demonstrated strong problem solving conflict resolution mediation and counselling skills.
  • Ability to travel to off site locations in a timely and efficient manner as required
