The Position:
We are seeking a Vice President of Finance to join our executive management team. The VP of Finance is a key member of CFGCs Executive Management and Finance leadership teams and is responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial operations ensuring regulatory compliance supporting strategic planning and maintaining a strong system of internal controls. This position oversees the accounting team and reports directly to the CFO.
What Youll Do
- Oversee Daily Financial Operations: Manage general accounting AP/AR payroll and cash flow processes ensuring timely and accurate financial activities.
- Supervise Finance Team: Lead payroll AP AR and accounting staff while coordinating with the Contracts Manager on local grants and contracts.
- Maintain Financial Systems: Ensure functionality and accuracy of accounting software (Sage Intacct) and collaborate with IT/accounting vendors like Armanino.
- Prepare Financial Reports: Analyze and deliver monthly financial statements variance reports and executive financial packages for leadership and the board.
- Budget Management: Lead the creation and review of annual and mid-year budgets including year-end projections as needed.
- Cash Flow and Treasury Oversight: Monitor cash activity forecast cash flow manage credit lines and report liquidity to executive leadership.
- Audit and Compliance: Lead internal audits support external audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory filings (e.g. IRS Form 990).
- Cost Reporting and DMH Compliance: Manage cost reports settlements and Medi-Cal reconciliations while maintaining compliance with DMH and other contracts.
- System and Process Improvements: Drive workflow automation internal control enhancements and financial data integration across platforms (e.g. EXYM UKG).
- Policy and Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on changes in accounting standards especially those impacting behavioral health finance.
- Hours: Full-time: minimum 40 hours per week.
- Fully onsite to start. Hybrid work option is available after 90 days of employment.
- Starting Salary: $150000 - $175000
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Sage Intacct and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with sound judgment and effective time management.
- Proven track record of meeting deadlines and completing projects and reports in a timely accurate manner.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality continuous improvement and process efficiency.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact respectfully and professionally.
- Reliable and punctual with a consistent record of good attendance and on-time performance.
- Collaborative team player who contributes to a positive team-oriented work environment.
- Enthusiastic and mission-driven with a commitment to departmental goals and the broader objectives of the organization.
- Bachelors Degree required. Focus in Business Administration or Accounting Preferred.
- Masters Degree and/or CPA preferred.
