The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Mississippi invites applications for two Postdoctoral Research Associate positions beginning in August 2025. These positions are part of a strategic initiative to grow research capacity in the department and expand interdisciplinary innovation at the interface of mechanical engineering intelligent systems and human-centered technologies.
Postdocs will be expected to contribute to research programs in areas such as robotics and AI for healthcare intelligent systems advanced manufacturing or other emerging domains relevant to national priorities and societal needs. The positions will support both independent and collaborative research with opportunities to contribute to proposal development student mentorship and multi-institutional projects.
Under the direction of the incoming Department Chair Dr. Xiaopeng Zhao these roles are designed to provide strong technical and professional development support. Postdocs will be actively mentored in writing presenting grant development and academic leadership.
