CSIROs Marine National Facility (MNF) is looking for an experienced and motivated Science & Technical Coordinator to lead the readiness maintenance and strategic management of MNFs scientific equipment and facilities. This critical role supports marine research by ensuring that laboratories equipment and operational capabilities align with the diverse needs of scientific projects.
Reporting to the Facilities Team Leader the Science & Technical Coordinator will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to manage the lifecycle of scientific assets support research voyage planning and contribute to the long-term strategic development of MNF capabilities. Occasional travel may be required including the opportunity to join voyages on RV Investigator in support of MNF operations.
Location: Hobart Tasmania
Salary: AU$114219 - AU$123605 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) plus up to 15.4% superannuation

Relevant trade certificate diploma bachelors degree or equivalent work experience in engineering marine engineering or project management.
Demonstrated experience managing research assets and facilities including coordinating complex logistics and prioritising multiple tasks and deadlines.
Proven ability to build and maintain constructive relationships with stakeholders customers and team members collaborating effectively to achieve shared goals.
Sound understanding of risk assessment processes and workplace health and safety principles.
Experience managing complex projects in dynamic environments with the ability to meet tight deadlines and handle competing priorities.
Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical or specialist information clearly and with influence.
Experience in contract management and procurement including developing market approach requirements and evaluating responses.
Ability to meet medical requirements including a pre-employment medical assessment.
