Job Summary
The Athletic Academic Coach develops and executes the athletics departments student-athlete success program by engaging campus and community resources that foster holistic development of each student athlete to include high impact practices that positively influence the retention eligibility and personal development of student-athletes from matriculation to graduation
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Provide academic coaching for student-athletes to develop their organizational skills time management skills exam preparation and academic planning. Provide life skills education and training to student-athletes. Create training and development schedule with tutoring technology resources study hall and other daily functions in athletic academic centers. Identify create and implement learning initiatives for at-risk student-athletes. Communicate liaise with faculty academic advisors coaches campus constituents regarding academic progress/deficiencies team trave and special needs. Assist with all functions of the Student-Athlete Success program and academic center including Eligibility Certification meeting with prospective student-athletes during recruiting visits and pre-enrollment activities. Track NCAA WAC and institutional requirements for eligibility by maintaining detailed and accurate reports of student-athletes academic progress and performance.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor of Science/Arts. Two (2) years experience in an advisory administrative or educational capacity with college students.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters in Education. Working processional experience and knowledge of NCAA Division I eligibility requirements. Experience in academic advising and life skills development experience hiring and training staff. experience with Peoplesoft Microsoft Office Tutortrac Timeclock LSDBi
Work Schedule
Monday-Friday; 8:00am-5:00pm Some nights and weekends may be necessary especially for responsibilities related to team travel and recruiting.
