Marine Logistics Lead Chartering & Risk

Were looking for a strategic and detail-driven Chartering Specialist to manage vessel chartering from key U.S. Gulf ports (Tampa New Orleans and Galveston). In this role youll collaborate across planning production distribution and storage teams to align logistics with business goals lead chartering strategy manage freight risk within Mosaics position limits and drive performance through the development and tracking of marine operations metrics.

What youll do:

  • ManageMosaic chartering by contracting freight with brokers and vessel owners to support Mosaic operations and sales ensuring compliance with internal policies and insurance requirements

  • Leadvessel chartering strategy for by partnering with International Sales to identify and execute CFR opportunities that grow sales optimize freight costs and deliver added value through strategic part cargo combinations.

  • ManageMosaics freight risk position by tracking long and short volumetric exposure and value at risk ensuring alignment with MCRC Position Limits and providing clear visibility into company-wide freight risk.

  • Developand track Marine Team performance metrics collaborating with team members to identify new KPIs that drive continuous improvement and support business growth

What youll need:

  • Bachelors Degree in intermodal transportation marine logistics or related

  • 2 years experience in marine logistics

  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook)

  • Able to utilize technology solutions to optimize supply chain situations

  • Project Management and CPM process

  • Finance knowledge

  • Must be able to successfully navigate in crucial conversations

  • Solid leadership ability excellent communicator.

  • Negotiation skills

  • Passionate work ethic willing to assist teammates when assistance or coverage is required.

  • Satisfy supply chain performance metrics and customer service goals.

  • Willing to take risks and to innovate new processes.

Bonus points if you have the following:

  • 2 years experience in marine logistics and intermodal transportation supply chain operations customer service and/or procurement

  • Experience with SAP

  • US Coast Guard License
