Job Description
Calpine Corporation is Americas largest generator of electricity from natural gas and geothermal resources with operations in competitive power markets. Job Responsibilities
- Deliver daily/weekly reports to support the business and maximize revenue cost and staffing performance.
- Analyze results to find and articulate the strategic insights generating conclusions and recommendations to minimize cost and maintain staffing while meeting all KPIs.
- Create queries to provide ad hoc reports analysis and datasets based on business needs.
- Assist in the development of new-business strategy initiatives performing through analysis developing compelling solutions and presenting recommendations.
- Conduct any necessary research to ensure data integrity in the reporting provided to business users Supervisors and Management.
- Develop stored procedures develop processes for performance reporting and scheduling improvement and efficiency data table maintenance and ad hoc reporting request.
- Analyze existing complex systems to understand and document data elements relationships data flow dependencies and their related interfaces.
- Analyzing business requirements and translating them into technical solutions using scheduling and reporting systems in place.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Sales to achieve consistent reporting and data alignment.
- Support continuous improvement of reporting and analytics needs as well as the
- production of all management reports.
- Any other duties as deemed necessary.
Job Requirements
- Bachelors Degree from a four-year college university or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
- 0-2 years of experience in data analysis and working with SQL Server and MS Office scheduling and reporting systems
- Reporting skills; including MS Excel and/or SQL to access combine and analyze multiple data sources (strong comfort level with formatting formulas graphs pivot tables etc.)
- Ability to work independently with minimal instructions.
- Excellent communication skills with strong and effective presentation and engagement skills
- Entry-level; practical operating knowledge to perform job.
- Learning applications and overall end to end processes.
- Performs standardized ongoing duties and tasks under day to day supervision.
