Job Description

Located 20km west of Sydney on Dharug country with a population of 240000 residents Cumberland City Council is the fourth most populous Local Government Area in Greater Sydney. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

All employees have an accountability to ensure work and conduct is aligned to these.

Councils Regulatory Technical Officeris responsible for the coordination of legal and administrative functions in relation to regulatory compliance and enforcement activities for Ranger and Parking Services.

The successful applicant will require:

  • Qualifications in business administration and or demonstrated industry experience ideally working in administration and/or legal support
  • Demonstrated experience with the preparation review and coordination of Notices Orders and Penalty Infringement Notices specifically under the Local Government Act Protection of the Environment Operations Act NSW Road Rules 2014 and Companion Animals Act 1998
  • Extensive experience in preparing affidavits / statements complying with the various Act / Regulations / Rules that govern the collection interpretation and presentation of evidence to and in a court of relevant jurisdiction
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills including the ability to provide a high standard of customer service and deal with sensitive issues in a tactful manner
  • Proven ability to establish effective internal and external relationships with stakeholders
  • Computer literacy including experience in data integration statistical analysis and document management systems
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills with the ability to recommend and implement business
    improvement processes
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team or autonomously without immediate supervision
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence
