We are looking for an Assistant Store Manager to join our growing retail team.
As part of a fast-paced dynamic management team you will be responsible for working with Store Manager in establishing and maintaining customer services and the operation of one or more store(s) ensuring maximum sales and profitability through merchandise inventory expense control human resources management manage operating costs and shrinkage. Job Responsibilities
- Directs and coordinates through subordinate managerial personnel activities of department store
- Profitability of store operations control shrink expenses and payroll
- Directs and participates in sales promotion activities including moving of merchandise fixtures
- Analyze and measure business trends plans to maximize sales and meet or exceed goals and objectives
- Ensure appropriate merchandise stock levels thru stock and sales report analysis at least once a month.
- Physically assist with stock processing on a daily basis
- Physically assist in merchandising the sales floor including floor moves and fixture moves
- Have a working knowledge of all register functions to ring and/or provide ringing instructions to co-workers
- Internet Fulfillment and BOPUS assist with and have knowledge of picking packing and processing on computer
- Assist and provide direction to Receiving Manager on trailer unloading best practices
- Have a working knowledge of all Inventory Control systems and procedures
- Have a working knowledge of all Cash Office and Courtesy systems policies and procedures
- Coaching counseling and developing people to next level
Additional Responsibilities
- Weekly Conference Calls with Director of Stores and daily morning huddles to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures and coworker recognition. Need to be the energizing force of the store.
- Annual physical inventory and cycle inventories
- Weekly DM meetings as needed
- Complete semi-annual square footage analysis
- Complete all corporately assigned audits to ensure store is in compliance with all federal state and local laws
- Partner with Human Resource Manager to produce co-worker schedules that are within budget guidelines
- Perform both interviews and training for newly hired sales co-workers
Qualifications
- Communication; verbal and written email and telephone with coworkers management buyers and customers possesses basic math skills.
- Creative problem solves motivate delegate coaching; have initiative /leadership qualities enthusiasm team working and organizational skills.
- Excellent computer and business analysis skills interpret reports
- Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
- Prior retail management or supervisory experience helpful (approximately no less than 10 years)
- High School diploma or equivalent. College preferred (4 year degree)
