MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN I


OVERVIEW

To build repair and maintain all types of industrial equipment with the main focus on electrical diagnostics of PLCs and machine controls

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Uses all basic hand tools safely and efficiently: including electric hand drills and saws to perform tasks.
  • Operates all shop equipment in safe and efficient manner including lathes mills grinders drill presses and power saws.
  • Accurately trouble-shoots and may program machine controls including PLC hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Uses standard measuring instruments accurately and efficiently in performing tasks such astape measures and calipers.
  • Safely and efficiently operates welding and cutting equipment to make repairs and fabrications.
  • Accurately records time and work performed on each work order.
  • Operates forklifts and powered lift trucks in a safe manner.
  • Safely and efficiently performs routine preventive maintenance service on machines as required.
  • Performs light carpentry and construction work as needed.
  • Safely and efficiently repair plumbing fixtures and perform normal pipe fitting duties.
  • Repairs and installs all types of lighting fixtures which may include working from 30 tall platforms ladders and/or lifts.
  • Performs all tasks with minimum supervision.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Five or more years of maintenance experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in general building mechanical plumbing welding/cutting and electrical maintenance in industrial facilities and grounds.
  • Experience with drawing and reading mechanical/electrical schematics/blueprints.
  • Solid oral and written business communication skills (bilingual Spanish a plus).
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint)
  • Good organizational and work prioritization skills.
  • Desire for growth and advancement.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Up to 10% travel may be required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job employees may be required to walk for prolonged periods of time frequently bending climbing rotating squatting reaching kneeling or stooping lifting up to 40 pounds and periods of computer use.

Employee may be frequently exposed to heat/cold heights gases vibration dust chemicals odors dampness fumes and noises.
