Job Description
Childrens Day Treatment
We believe in making a difference for children in need.
Day Treatment helps children grades Kindergarten - 8 whose social emotional and behavioral problems interfere with their academic progress. Through a trauma-informed lens we serve children throughout the Twin Cities Metro Area who are looking to find new ways of coping and managing difficult feelings and situations in healthy and helpful ways.
Our diverse passionate fun loving team offers skill development individual and group therapy family psychoeducation and support. Our Childrens Day Treatment is a full-day program where both treatment and academics are provided on-site.

Summary:
- Provide weekly individual therapy to the 8-10 clients on case load. Clients ages range from 5-14 years old.
- Facilitate daily psychotherapy groups around emotions thoughts triggers coping strategies and interpersonal dynamics
- Complete diagnostic assessments and treatment plans on a timely basis
- Build therapeutic relationships with clients and their caregivers.
- Provide family therapy psychoeducation and support to families
- Build strong and collaborative relationship with day treatment and school staff
- Collaborate with team members to enhance understanding of clients functioning during the milieu; work together to develop plans that address the needs
and dynamics of clients - Participate and be engaged in clinical supervision with direct supervisor. Be prepared to discuss cases; be reflective open and collaborative.
- Participate and be engaged in weekly clinical consultation with colleagues and consultant
- Participate and be engaged in staff meetings treatment room meetings and additional meetings as required.
- Maintain medical records
- Responsible for reviewing and ensuring the relevance accuracy and timeliness of
data and reporting for purposes of accountability and client outcomes. - Adhere to the requirements for training and ethical practices with the appropriate licensing board and to maintain clinical licensure
- Responsible for setting up client files (paper and electronic) through the referral and intake process.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters in Social Work Marriage & Family Therapy or related field
- Professional Licensure approved by the State of Minnesota (e.g. LGSW LICSW LAMFT LMFT LPC LP etc.).
- Has experience and training in working with specific client group.
- Has experience in providing clinical services in the diagnosis and treatment of emotional disorders.
- Minimum of one year of broad based clinical experience and group facilitation with culturally diverse low-income and multi-problem clientele.
- Ability to work with diverse and/or low income populations including those who may be experiencing homelessness unstable housing and/or mental illness required.
