POSITION TITLE:Specialist II CurriculumPOSITION SUMMARY
Curriculum Specialist II provides back-end support in the implementation of course and program-level curriculum. The specialist serves as system administrator and maintainer of the Curriculum Management platform including process improvement employee training monitoring active proposals and assisting faculty with submissions. The specialist drafts the monthly Curriculum Committee agendas and records meeting minutes. The specialist reports curriculum updates to ICCB and other agencies. The specialist enters approved curriculum in the Student Information System including requisites for courses and academic requirements/plans in degree audit for programs. The person in this position works closely with the Registrars Office to move students from inactive and withdrawn programs. The specialist uses content management systems to maintain the electronic college catalog and faculty/staff portals. The specialist position will prepare ad hoc reports as requested. The specialist will also perform related duties demonstrate an invested continuous interest in process improvement and may work with new or additional software platforms in the future that assist in the essential functions of the Curriculum office.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Serve as the recording secretary of the Curriculum Committees. Monitor curriculum proposals for addition to agendas. Distribute information electronically for the meetings. Create calendar invitations in Outlook. Maintain the Curriculum Committee Handbook as needed for publication.
2. Assist supervisor in the maintenance of Curriculum Management College Catalog and Syllabus Management software platforms.
3. Process documentation required by ICCB for curricular additions changes and/or withdrawals. Ensure the college follows state rules and regulations as they relate to new/changed or withdrawn curricula.
4. Update Student Information System with approved curriculum changes including course requisite rules and academic requirements/plans for program degree audits.
5. Maintain current relevant content on Academic Affairs webpages and internal portal pages.
6. Assist supervisor in responding to any requests for curriculum information or compliance projects from financial aid or other student development departments related to degree audit.
7. Assist supervisor in managing the annual update of the college catalog including term guides for all programs and certificates in electronic content management system.
8. Assist in the maintenance of Course Fee List. Work with Student Advising Center to help maintain updates and training for the Workday Student Progress and Plans.
9. Assist supervisor in maintaining data for Gainful Employment and ECAR submissions.
10. Assist in resolving registration requisite discrepancies.
11. Perform related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Associates degree.
2. Strong verbal/written communication and organizational skills.
3. Working knowledge of general office routine and procedures.
4. Strong overall technology skills.
5. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software programs including Excel.
6. Task-oriented self-starter who takes initiative able to work with minimal supervision.
7. Logical evaluation of tasks with ability to provide creative solutions.
8. Special attention to accuracy.
9. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.
10. Demonstrated commitment to the colleges core values of respect and inclusion sustainability integrity collaboration humor and well-being innovation and quality.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Associates degree in Office Administration Computer Information Systems or related field
2. Experience with Content Management Systems
3. Experience with Student Information Systems
4. English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
5. Demonstrated multicultural competence.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Normal office physical demands.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Duties are performed indoors in the usual office environment.
