Description

Could you be Incommunities new Arborist Ground Worker This is a great opportunity to join our tree surgery team supporting the completion of arboriculture and horticultural work across our estates.

Duties include:

  • Set up work zones and signage perform safety checks and ensure the site is free of hazards Site preparation and safety and communicate with the climbers
  • Carry out the full range of arboriculture and horticulture works including:- pruning felling dismantle shaping pollarding stump grinding root chasing and the safe use of climbing equipment working off platforms.
  • Grass cutting strimming hedge planting hedge cutting mixed bed maintenance work general site clearance and fly tip removal including hard re-landscaping and reinstatement work.
  • Assist with rigging ropes and lowering systems during large removals.
  • Manage ropes (pulling feeding coiling) during climbing operations and inspect all equipment.
  • Monitor the climbers safety and assist in emergencies.
  • Carry out regular safety inspections of all climbing equipment PPE saws machinery tools equipment chippers Stump grinder trailers and vehicles notifying managers of any repair or replacements needed.


Requirements
  • Practical experience of Tree Team Ground Works and associated tasks within a range of locations woodlands private gardens and communal spaces.
  • Basic tree shrub identification.
  • City & Guilds NPTC CS30 31 CS 38 Aerial Rescue.
  • Excellent Health and Safety regulations knowledge relating to safe site working practices use of machinery and tools.
  • An understanding of risk assessment methodology.
  • The ability to work at heights if required.
  • Willingness to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • A current UK manual car driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle for work purposes

A basic DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check will be required for the successful candidate as part of the pre-employment process - Criminal Conviction Checks
