Description
Job Title: Subsea Systems Engineer
Job Summary:
The Subsea Systems Engineer is responsible for the design integration and delivery of subsea production systems. This includes managing the technical scope of subsea architecture equipment interfaces flow assurance and system operability from concept through execution and into operations. The role collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure systems meet functional safety and environmental requirements while optimizing cost and schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define design and integrate subsea production systems (e.g. trees manifolds umbilicals jumpers flowlines and controls).
- Interface with internal teams and vendors to ensure seamless integration across all subsea hardware and controls.
- Support the development of system architecture layout and functional specifications.
- Participate in system engineering reviews: HAZID HAZOP Design Reviews FAT SIT and interface workshops.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications industry standards (e.g. API ISO DNV) and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical input during procurement fabrication installation commissioning and start-up phases.
- Support field development planning system operability and maintainability assessments.
- Coordinate with SURF (Subsea Umbilicals Risers and Flowlines) and Topsides teams to manage interfaces.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and propose engineering solutions as needed.
- Generate engineering documentation: specifications datasheets procedures and reports.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Subsea Petroleum or Systems Engineering.
- 5 years of experience in subsea systems engineering within the oil & gas industry.
- Proficiency with subsea engineering tools (e.g. OrcaFlex OLGA Aveva E3D FieldTwin or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of subsea equipment design and system integration.
- Familiar with industry codes and standards (API 17 series ISO 13628 DNVGL).
- Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
Desirable Attributes:
- Systems engineering certification or experience with MBSE (Model-Based Systems Engineering).
- Working knowledge of flow assurance principles and subsea processing.
- Experience with digital twin asset integrity systems or real-time monitoring tools.
