Job Summary
This position will be responsible for coordinating and delivering instruction of health science high school classes. This will include participation in content development and arranging simulation lab and/or clinical experience. Must work within Midland College ISD and professional regulatory agency guidelines.
Essential Functions
Assist in the development of health science course curriculum Instruct health science students in theory and skill Utilize a variety of effective and professional teaching techniques and methods to assist students in attaining the performance objectives of the courses Assist in maintaining accreditation from regulatory agencies as appropriate Oversee clinical experience of students in various community clinical sites and a simulation lab Prepare report of students success according to Midland College and Midland ISD guidelines Maintain budgetary compliance Attend meetings as required by the Department Chair and Associate Dean Observe the administrative policies and mission of Midland College Fulfill faculty roles and responsibilities as outlined in Midland College Policies and Administrative Regulations Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time The person in this position needs to occasionally move or drive to other locations on and off campus Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation Use of manual dexterity The person in this position frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision and the ability to adjust focus Frequently moves equipment or paperwork weighing up to 20 pounds Office classroom simulation laboratory and clinical setting with common related bodily fluids present
Required Qualifications
Must possess a current license to practice in a health care occupation by a state or nationally recognized accrediting agency Minimum of three years of experience in related health care profession Proficient in computer skills including the use of Microsoft Word Knowledge of general office equipment and equipment related to healthcare delivery Strong organizational skills Self-motivated Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population both orally and in writing Interest in working in college and high school settings Ability to work effectively as a member of the instructional team Must possess a valid Texas Driver License good driving record and be insurable on Midland Colleges insurance policy
Preferred Qualifications
Associate or Bachelors degree in a health science-related field Experience teaching adolescent or adult students Experience teaching health science material Licensed as a Nurse in the State of Texas
