    QUALIFICATIONS
    1. Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred
    2. Familiar with automated Payroll principles preferred
    3. Familiar with accounting software or Infinite Visions Accounting System preferred
    4. Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook Word Excel
    5. Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices
    6. Familiar with automated fund accounting principals and procurement rules
    7. Knowledge of governmental accounting principles preferred
    8. Experience in analyzing financial data and knowledge of working solutions to misdirected funds
    9. Have knowledge skill and or experience in the implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) strategies or be willing to receive training in those strategies
    10. Ability to obtain a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    1. Ability to demonstrate organizational skills.
    2. Strong internal and external communication skills both oral and written.
    3. Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
    4. Ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
    5. Ability to use computers for word processing and data management.
    6. Ability to apply common sense understanding to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations
    7. Ability to interact cooperatively and courteously with staff students parents and community.
    8. Utilize with fidelity the District Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) program at the building level.
    9. Ensure information obtained through the course of duties associated with this position is held in the highest of confidentiality.
    10. Perform all duties in accordance with Federal and State laws district procedures and Board policies; including mandatory reporting procedures.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Provide accounting services essential to the preparation administration supervision and control areas responsible for as found in the USFR and District Policies.
    2. Report to the Business Office Manager the amounts of warrants drawn the accounts against which the warrants have been drawn and the balance of each account per month.
    3. Confirms availability of funds validates request prepares and records disbursements and receipts as applicable.
    4. Provides advance notification of potential over-expenditure of budgeted funds
    5. Prepares and maintains all necessary earnings deductions and associated personnel payment records and reports.
    6. Maintains and balances checking accounts.
    7. Ensure information obtained through the course of duties associated with this position is held in the highest of confidentiality.
    8. Refer non-job-specific inquiries to appropriate departments.
    9. Prepare financial and other budget reports as required by the School Board and auditors.
    10. Cooperate with the auditors and provide information as requested for the appropriate department function.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to reach with hands and arms sit stand walk stoop and bend as necessary. The employee maylift carry push pull or otherwise move objects weighing a minimum of 10 pounds and could occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. The employee will read correspondence and computer screens and use the telephone.

    ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
    The Accounts Payable Specialist reports to the Business Office Manager. The Payroll Specialist will interact cooperatively with all other staff positions. All elements of good human relations will be practiced.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
    SALARY: Starting at$16.35 Per Hour
    WORK YEAR: 12 Months / 8 hours per day
    FLSA Status: Non-exempt
