Head of Product Design (freelance) H/F

About the Role 

As the Head of Product Design for Voyage Priv you own the end-to-end experience across all digital customer touchpoints and the ambition to ensure coherence and excellence wherever users interact with our product. 

You will define and execute a design vision that elevates both user experience and user interface with a clear bias for business impact especially conversion engagement and customer satisfaction. You ensure that our products not only work well but feel exceptional creating trust delight and a strong brand impression. 

You elevate the design function within our digital team ensuring an intuitive seamless and delightful experience for our millions of users fostering repeat business and customer loyalty. 

You work in tight partnership with Product Engineering and Data to shape our digital touchpoints including web mobile and other digital interfaces (ex: CRM emails internal tools) focusing on usability engagement and most importantly conversion.    

You proactively collaborate hand-in-hand with the rest of the organization being the best friend of the business especially the marketing team to ensure success. 

Key responsibilities 

Strategic leadership 

• Define and lead a design vision fully aligned with product strategy and business goals. 

• Represent design at the leadership level influencing roadmap priorities and investment decisions with a user-centric mindset. 

• Embed a culture of design excellence throughout the digital team and the broader organization. 

Product design & UI execution 

• Lead end-to-end design efforts from insights to final UI across web and mobile platforms ensuring flawless usability and polished brand-aligned interfaces. 

• Set a high bar for visual design quality details and delight not just functional UX. 

• Drive consistency trust and elegance in every interaction. 

• Compare and rationalize design alternatives based on user needs and business impact clearly articulating pros and cons to support strategic decision-making. 

• Ensure pixel-perfect implementation of features in collaboration with engineering through rigorous QA design specs and iterative feedback loops 

AI-Native UX Thinking 

• Anticipate and design for the next generation of user experiences enabled by LLMs and AI agents. 

• Rethink UX from first principles going beyond conventional screens and flows to invent new interaction models based on natural language adaptive interfaces and real-time AI assistance. 

• Understand and explore how these paradigms reshape navigation onboarding search discovery and support with a critical mindset that avoids superficial gimmicks. 

• Collaborate closely with Product Engineering and Data/AI teams to evolve the platform toward AI-native future-compatible UX patterns and design systems. 

User research & experimentation 

• Benchmark UI and UX of best-in-class competitors to feed AB testing roadmap and drive more business (increase lead rate conversion rate reduce contact rate etc.). 

• Promote continuous learning via qualitative and quantitative user research. 

• Define UX success metrics and run experimentation (e.g. A/B testing) to validate and refine design decisions. 

Design operations & system 

• Build and scale a robust design operating model: clear process feedback loops design QA documentation. 

• Maintain and evolve our Design System for efficiency and consistency across teams and touchpoints. 

Cross-functional collaboration 

• Work in tight partnership with Engineering to ensure high-fidelity implementation and technical feasibility especially on mobile. 

• Collaborate with Marketing and Brand teams to ensure a coherent omnichannel experience. 

Team development 

• Recruit grow and mentor a high-performing Product Design team. 

• Elevate individual contributors and build a learning-driven team culture. 

What Success Looks Like 

• A strong user-focused design culture is embedded in the product development process ensuring a seamless and compelling user journey. 

• The user experience of our digital platform is significantly improved leading to measurable business impact (engagement conversion retention). 

• A scalable and cohesive design system is in place enabling efficient execution (web mobile). 

• Design is recognized as a strategic function within the digital organization (and especially within the Product team) influencing both product and business outcomes. 

Qualifications :

Profile were looking for 

• Strong business mindset and obsession with outcomes not output 

• Strong portfolio of product design work with real impact on business metrics 

• Track record designing native mobile apps with high conversion or engagement performance 

• Ability to challenge and push for excellent UI not just usability 

• Experience working with engineering and product leaders to deliver high-velocity high-quality design 

• Leadership experience: team building coaching design rituals DesignOps etc. 

• Fluent in Figma prototyping research and experimentation tools.  

• Experience in using AI-based tools such as Lovable.
