AWP is a one-of-a-kind local program dedicated to bringing yoga and mindfulness fitness and personal training outdoor services nutrition services physical therapy peer support art therapy and music therapy to the Milwaukee community with a particular focus on serving individuals in mental health recovery and people with disabilities.

About the role: The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) supports clients in physical and mental health recovery working 1:1 with individuals to provide rehabilitation that is fully customized to the clients needs following Ascent Wellness Program principles to provide accessible and inclusive wellness services. Interventions may include: manual therapy exploration of natural & pain-free movement exercises for overall physical mobility and joint health stretching/self-massage and other therapeutic activities. Services are delivered on-site.
Job Qualifications:
- PREFERRED: A relevant Bachelors or Masters degree in exercise science kinesiology or other areas related to the profession.
- REQUIRED: Currently licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant in Wisconsin.
- Excellent professional communication and customer service skills is required.
- Ability to work independently with excellent organization and time management skills is required.
- Professional work experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting is preferred.
- Professional work experience related to mental health and healthcare is a plus.
- Ability to speak multiple languages is a plus.

Hours and pay: This is a part-time position requiring a minimum of 20 hours per week typically scheduled between 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday.
This position pays $25-27 per hour to start.
