DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS School of Architecture and Planning (SAP) to provide creative and strategic leadership in the development and implementation of SAP communications including content selection and refinement for all school channels; work with the Dean Deans office communications staff and the leadership and communications staff in our eight departments and units; and present a complete compelling and consistent image of the Schools goals and accomplishments with the aim of increasing visibility for a range of audiences at MIT and beyond.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: Bachelors degree in communications or similar field; a minimum of seven years of work experience in organizational communication; superior communication interpersonal and oral and written communication skills; outstanding creative and technical skills; experience in all aspects of multimedia and web communications; knowledge of current communications practices; self-directed individual used to operating with minimal supervision; and experience managing and directing a team or project. PREFERRED: Experience working in a higher education setting; experience supervising small teams in fast-paced environment; and advanced degree in related field (English journalism etc.) and knowledge of architecture planning design or the arts.
