SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for District systems and network in support of educational program objectives
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assumes responsibility for ensuring all district systems and network services are on-line daily
- Assumes shared responsibility for hardware and software in the datacenter
- Install configure and support district systems to include wired and wireless networks phone etc.
- Install configure and support District software such as virtualization departmental software URL filtering software antivirus and OS update services workstation/server OS etc.
- Install configure and support District systems to include security camera virtual and storage systems etc.
- Monitor servers network systems and applications to ensure availability to all users and perform necessary maintenance
- Plan organize communicate and schedule systems repair and maintenance.
- Communicate and coordinate with vendors and technical support staff to maintain systems to assure accessibility by users timeliness of data needs and to resolve hardware or software problems
- Maintain systems and network documentation.
Maintain up-to-date records such as support contracts inventory records record of upgrades etc. for all network and systems-related equipment.
Schedule network and systems related cabling runs as needed (in house and outsourced) to support instructional and safety plan
Implement plan for backup and restoration of systems and network as well as provide documentation in the event of an emergency
Respond to emergency calls as necessary regarding computer system failures or environmental system problems
Work along with technical support staff to resolve systems and server related work orders
Coordinate maintain and restore electronic backups of servers and systems
Perform specialized and routine support functions
Maintains regular and predictable attendance
Adheres to the professional code of ethics
Successfully utilizes technology as appropriate in job function
Perform special projects and other duties as assigned by supervisor
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Software installation configuration and troubleshooting
- Local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN) Internet e-mail systems telecommunications and data communications standard operating systems and software packages
- Security equipment such as firewalls intrusion detection systems and virus protection systems
- Network equipment such as servers (physical and virtual) switches and routers
- Advanced principles and techniques of systems analysis and programming
- Windows and Macintosh platforms and their operating systems
- Windows Active Directory and Group Policy Management
- Network firewall and image deployment solutions
- District organization operations policies and objectives
ABILITY TO:
- Maintain a working relationship with staff
- Troubleshoot and resolve systems issues
- Work as a team and communicate using interpersonal skills such as tact patience and courtesy
- Work closely with other departments and collaborate with other IT staff

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Any combination equivalent to: bachelors degree in computer information science or related field OR experience in systems design and programming involving database structures and on-line applications
- Experience administrating a network environment
- Well-developed human relations/communications/teamwork skills
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in technically related area
