The opportunity

The role will play a crucial part in performing and coordinating service activities in relation to our portfolio predominantly in Perth Western Australia and will focus on Service and technical support for State of the Art Surgical Robotics Systems but will also include work on a variety of Medical Equipment including critical care and ophthalmology.

Key Responsibilities:

Field Service

  • Perform corrective service preventative maintenance and in-house repair in a professional and customer-oriented manner;
  • Promptly respond to all service and support calls designated by Technical Service coordinators and regional / national service management;
  • Participate in the service management system by actively communicating calendar scheduling with Technical Service coordinators promptly entering Technical Service Report (TSR) data and effectively managing spare parts inventory;
  • Participate in equipment installations as required working with a team of internal and external technicians engineers and contractors or the onsite team/hospital facilities department to install and commission equipment;
  • Work closely with other departments to contribute to the sales and business development process and ensure that customer needs are met;
  • Maintain a safe working environment and proactively identify and deal with issues;
  • Escalate identified product faults to regional management and follow up with customer on fault resolution as appropriate;
  • Effectively track and account for boot stock spare parts inventory via regular stock takes;
  • Participate in spare parts warranty returns processes in a timely manner;
  • Utilise loan stock equipment to service customer requirements track and account for equipment movements and maintain equipment in a fully serviceable state;
  • Maintain the companys responsibilities relating to Electrical Licensing including completing any required electrical qualification to carry out the requirements of the position (where applicable).

Technical Support

  • Provide both intraoperative and non-intraoperative technical phone support to customers and field personnel including Sales Service Marketing etc.
  • Quickly become knowledgeable on policies processes and procedures as well as knowledge of best practices.
  • Analyse and troubleshoot complex robotic problems using remote diagnostics over the telephone.
  • Review RemoteFE auto-generated Service Requests and dispatch Field Service Orders as required through SAP/CRM.
  • Drive resolution of da Vinci technical issues until acceptable solution is identified and implemented or it is determined escalation is necessary.
  • Available to provide onsite support for any escalated technical issues or Customer Care sites per management needs.
  • Drive key metrics to support corporate/departmental goals.
  • Facilitate technical requests from field engineers.
  • Responsible for creating dispatching and tracking service requests in the SAP/CRM business system.
  • Have a flexible work schedule including holidays and on-call duties.

Experience required

  • Previous Biomedical Experience Highly regarded.
  • Electronic / biomedical / electrical qualification (degree certificate or similar).
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience with Fault finding/Troubleshooting.
  • High level of computer literacy including networking.
  • Drivers Licence Required.
