Fortis Industries Inc. is hiring a full-time Swimming Pool Operator who will be responsible for ensuring the proper operations of the pools on our Southern California contracts. The Maintenance Plumber assembles installs and repairs pipes fittings and fixtures of heating water and drainage systems according to specifications and plumbing codes studies building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations. Essential Job Functions Swimming Pool Operator (Pool Operations) Job Overview: The Maintenance Plumber is responsible for ensuring proper operation maintenance and repairs of swimming pool systems and plumbing infrastructure. This role involves working with pool mechanical systems performing routine maintenance and ensuring safe water quality through chemical balancing and equipment checks. Essential Job Functions: - Inspect structures to determine obstructions and prevent weakening due to plumbing installations.
- Locate and mark positions for pipes pipe connections and passage holes.
- Cut openings in walls and oors using hand and power tools.
- Cut bend and thread pipes using proper equipment such as cutters torches and threading machines.
- Assemble and install valves ttings and pipes made of metals (iron steel brass lead) and nonmetals (glass vitried clay plastic).
- Join pipes using screws bolts ttings solder or plastic solvent and caulking; test systems using water or air pressure.
- Install and repair plumbing xtures including sinks commodes water heaters and water softeners.
- Repair leaks burst pipes and unclog drains; may weld xtures to structural members.
Pool Operations and Maintenance: - Perform daily weekly and monthly maintenance of pools complete pool logs and checklists.
Monitor and maintain pool water chemistry: pH chlorine ORP alkalinity salt levels temperature. Change chlorine tanks as needed. Troubleshoot and repair minor mechanical and plumbing issues related to pools. Inspect pools regularly for safety compliance and operational standards. Clean pools using vacuums brushes and chemicals. Clean and repair lter systems and inspect tile for damage. Replace skimmer and lter basket components. Check function and calibration of water chemistry control systems.
Observations: - Checks equipment and chemical inventories and any restocking needs
- Provides necessary information regarding renovation or annual maintenance needs.

- Inspect and maintain oil water separators (OWS) and associated piping
- Report emergencies or unusual malfunctions to supervisors
- Document materials used and work performed
- Perform additional tasks as needed based on operational requirements
Physical Mental and Environmental Demands: - Coordination and dexterity to work with power and hand tools such as drills electric saws hammers sewer snakes etc.
- Respond to visual and oral cues.
- Read write speak and understand English.
- Stoop bend jump and carry heavy loads.
- Lift up to 100 pounds.
- Able to maneuver on level surfaces as well as up and down stairs.
- Think clearly and respond calmly in situations.
Qualifications: - Minimum 5-year experience in Aquatic Management and Pool Operations or a Facilities Background
- Certied Pool Operator Certication In compliance to Local Health Codes
- Working knowledge of Pool Water Chemistry and saltwater chlorinator systems.
- Basic Knowledge of Swimming Pool Equipment including installation troubleshooting and basic overhaul
- Valid Drivers License
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
