By The Hand is a not-for-profit religious organization. Individuals employed at By The Hand are working in ministerial roles and perform all or some of the following responsibilities: sharing the Gospel teaching chapel leading Bible studies discipling students and modeling behavior that is consistent with Christs teaching.
Rate of Pay: $65000 per year
Overview of Position
Reporting to the Director of Technology the Technology Support Specialist will play a critical role in maintaining and supporting technology across multiple sites including computers printers network equipment and audio-visual systems.
Spiritual Requirements
Has a personal and saving relationship with Jesus Christ evidenced by a lifestyle that demonstrates the Word of God and is in regular fellowship with other members in a Bible-believing church.
Agrees with the By The Hand Club Doctrinal Statement and adheres to the Employee Biblical Standards of Living.
Shows by example the importance of Scripture memorization Bible study prayer witnessing and Christian fellowship.
Leads a team devotional on a regular basis and participates in weekly team prayer.
Has completed an evangelism course and is trained and prepared to share the gospel with anyone who inquires.
Works with staff and members of the EOS Leadership Team to monitor and enforce policies and procedures to further By The Hands religious purpose and freedom.
Role Responsibilities
Performs in a way that is consistent with the vision mission and culture of By The Hand and commits to excellence in every aspect of the overall operation.
Models cultural values of By The Hand Club For Kids in day-to-day behavior.
Follows all policies as outlined in the operational guide including maintaining brand standards and ensuring 100% adherence to the Child Protection Policy.
Participates in employee growth plans including quarterly conversations and annual review meetings.
Maintain and update inventory of all technology devices (Chromebooks Windows laptops AV equipment networking hardware etc.).
Perform software updates patches and system upgrades across Windows ChromeOS and macOS devices.
Maintain the Google Workspace (GSuite) as an administrator (create users groups routing of emails and update student account Chromebook security settings etc).
Diagnose and repair basic hardware issues on laptops and within computer carts.
Provide Level 1 troubleshooting for desktops laptops Chromebooks and Macs.
Set up and troubleshoot printers scanners and peripheral devices.
Assist with minor network troubleshooting (e.g. Wi-Fi connectivity cabling issues checking routers/switches).
Assist each year in ordering and setting up new Chromebooks for staff and students as needed.
Support and maintain audio-visual equipment including smart projectors and classroom technology.
Train staff on how to take care of computers carts and cords. Communicate with staff to update them on the status of computers.
Document support tasks and solutions in the Technology Departments ticketing system.
Escalate complex technical issues to senior Technology Department staff or external vendors as needed.
Travel to all BTH sites on a weekly basis to check all staff and student Chromebooks repairing refurbishing and troubleshooting to resolve problems. (High user visibility is required).
Work independently and cross functionally (especially with CFO) to create cost and time saving technological solutions for various departments.
Perform all other duties as required and assigned.

Outstanding customer service skills as well as strong verbal and written communication.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and demonstrated capability to transfer manual tasks into automated solutions.
Proven ability to work under pressure and multi-task effectively.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED required; some college coursework or technical certification (CompTIA A Google IT Support etc.) preferred.
Basic knowledge of Windows ChromeOS and macOS operating systems.
Ability to troubleshoot hardware issues and perform minor repairs.
Familiarity with networking fundamentals (IP addresses switches Wi-Fi etc.).
Must have a valid drivers license available transportation and their own auto insurance to travel around the city.

100% of the staff to be trained for computer usage.
100% of student computers are working daily.
100% of Wi- Fi is working at all locations daily.
100% of tickets are resolved within a response time of 24 hours.
100% of our computer inventory is updated weekly.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers photocopies filing cabinets. This job is not a virtual job but it requires in-person attendance as agreed upon by your immediate supervisor. This job does require some after-hours support for special events or urgent issues.
Physical Demands
The employee is regularly required to speak and listen. This role may require you to move equipment between rooms and/or locations and lift up to 50 pounds. The individual is also required to travel to other organizational sites to meet with staff.
