Job Description
Do you enjoy the right balance of field and office work Do you possess an analytical and inquisitive mind We have an opportunity for an Engineering Technician II to be part of the critical elements of the projects lifecycle. This opportunity will allow you to become a resources and domain expert in the area of as-built and document management. As a member of the as-built team you will visit substations verify as-found conditions and use your expertise to ensure our substations engineering drawings are accurately documented archived and ready for the next project. You will also ensure that all current conditions field changes construction modifications shop drawing changes etc. are collected and flow through the design and documentation procedures. You will also participate in site visits quality assurance process and new process improvement developments.
You will be trusted to:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings construction documents red lines and other technical information.
- Work with the team to organize all materials and process data before and after the site visits.
- Coordinate and schedule as-built activities with our engineering partners.
- Review and archive deliverables for internal and outsourced designs.
- Communicate feedback to design team on changes happening between design and project closeout.
- Use CAD software and equipment to prepare detailed complex engineering diagrams schematics working drawings and layout drawings from provided materials.
- Captures engineering and field information by traveling to various locations throughout our service area.
You qualify with:
- Three or more years of experience interpreting technical drawings/documents and performing technical analysis; drafting using computer-aided design software performing engineering design or other relevant experience.
- A degree in computer-aided design engineering technology or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
- Drivers license if traveling independently to various locations (substations power plants water systems etc.)
You are a great fit with:
-Experience with Autocad 2018 and above.
-Experience with Document management systems such as BlueCielo Meridian or Autodesk Vault.
