General Information:
Hitachi Energy is seeking a Senior Design Engineer for its Alamo TN location.
Your Responsibilities:
- Perform various engineering tasks involving such functions as analysis design development test installation and service while working from instructions drawings proposals specifications Bill of Materials and other pertinent information.
- Prepare specifications and related documents according to requirements established formats and general instructions. Review and analyze various engineering data documents and reports.
- Consult with other engineering groups to ensure that specified engineering criteria are suitable for the proposed application and recommend revisions as appropriate.
- Investigate technical problems and establish procedures and corrective actions to avoid recurrences.
- General concentration of activities by allocating close to 40% of the time to customer focus and commercial orders about 30% to product care and 30% to operational troubleshooting and field support.
- Assist senior Engineers in preparing drawings/specifications material and design selection quotations licensing and safety documents and obtaining required approvals.
- Using state-of-the-art CAD develop 2-D and 3-D models of components and assemblies for prototype production and retrofit builds as required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product design and performance.
- Ability to learn basic numerical tolerance calculations and stack-up analysis.

- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations procedures and guidelines.
Your Background:
- Bachelors degree in electrical electromechanical or mechanical engineering or related field and 5 to 7 or more years of experience; alternatively a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
- Working experience with Pro-E or any 3D CAD modeling software is highly desired but not required.
- Working experience with Windchill data management or any PLM software is highly desired but not required.
- Preferably they have some experience developing electromechanical products (preferably with power transformer components) which is highly desired but not required.
- Knowledge of industry standards regulations engineering principles and best practices.
