Grosvenor HouseLocated on Park Lane in the heart of Mayfair our distinguished 5-star hotel offers exceptional accommodation epicurean delights and sweeping views over Hyde grand 5-star hotel celebrated its 90th anniversary in 2019. We are currently recruiting fora Finance Assistant who will ensure that all measures targets and standard are achieved to the highest audit standard in a professional and efficient manner. They will maintain finance records and carry out administration duties relating to finance.

In line with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996 we do require all applicants to have the eligibility to live and work in the United Kingdom. Documentation will be required.

What you will be doing: The role of the Finance Assistant includes the following areas but at any given time primary duties will be assigned on one or more areas:

  • Accounts Receivable
  • Credit Control
  • General Cashier
  • Accounts Payable
  • Events Billing
  • Income Audit
  • Associated month end responsibilities.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Experience

  • Cash handling experience preferred ideally in a hotel restaurant bar or retail outlet or retail environment
  • Hotel Operations experience in any department beneficial particularly F&B or Front Desk
  • Previous experience working within a self-accounting hotel in the following disciplines is desirable; Accounts Receivable Credit Control General Ledger accounting experience to include month end responsibilities & Balance Sheet reconciliations Front Office or Reservations

Skills and Knowledge

  • Timeliness and accuracy in recording and reporting
  • Must possess a high degree of numerical literacy
  • Ability to verbally communicate effectively with clients suppliers and co-workers.
  • Flexible hours (Weekend work may apply during month end / yearend/ late shifts may be required)
  • Strong Communication & Negotiation skills (verbal listening writing)
  • Ability to follow procedures and LSOPs closely
  • Security and safety in work habits
  • Hands on approach required
  • Flexible team player and strong communicator.
  • Willingness to learn and develop as training will be provided.

Education or Certification

  • Prior Cash handling experience preferred but not essential
  • Administration experience and Microsoft application knowledge
  • Excel skills to Intermediate level
  • Opera and Micros knowledge preferred
  • Ideally possess an accounting or finance qualification or hospitality qualification
