As we continue to improve performance and customer experience across our ntwork were looking for a skilled and experienced Technical Riding Inspector to play a key role in ensuring our fleet meets the highest standards of safety reliability and technical excellence.

From electrical fault-finding and repairs to improving performance whilst our trains are in service youll be helping to minimise disruption and keep services running smoothly being at the heart of delivering exceptional service for our customers.

Can You See Yourself

• Excelling in Electrical Work:Carrying out advanced electrical fault-finding maintenance and in-service repairs on our trains ensuring they meet the high standards our customers and stakeholders expect.
• Being Hands-On:Responding to call-outs for failed trains and working as part of a team to minimise disruption and improve performanceand investigate intermittent issues as required.
• Thriving on Collaboration:Act as a key communication link between production staff technical teams contractors maintenance and servicing with train crews and engineering teams to resolve faults quickly and effectively.
• Driving Improvement:Continuously reviewing and improving electrical systems and processes to meet targets and deadlines helping to build a railway the North can be proud production teams by mentoring coaching and sharing technical knowledge.
• Safety Conscious:Conduct audits and generate reports on fleet quality technical performance and reliability. Advise on train fitness to run and ensure quality standards are upheld. Contribute to safety investigations and performance improvement initiatives.

Are You

• Mechanically & Electrically Skilled:A NVQ Level 3 or apprentice-trained multi-skilled engineering technician with a strong emphasis on electrical fault-finding and maintenance.
• Experienced:Experience in rail operations and fleet maintenanceDMU/EMU knowledge preferred
• Reliable and Hardworking:Ready to take on a challenging but rewarding role that keeps our fleet in top condition.
• Adaptable:Willing to work a variety of shifts including early mornings late nights weekends and Bank Holidays.
• Calm Under Pressure:Able to think quickly and stay composed in high-pressure situations with the confidence to make decisions.
• Proactive Mindset:A proactive mindset with a passion for safety fault resolution and continuous improvement.
