About the Directorate
The Growth directorate brings together many of the councils universal services. It has a strong focus on services that shape the built environment including: the highway carriageway footway and drainage network housing; regeneration; planning; town centres; development of new infrastructure such as schools and leisure centres; and management of the councils property estate.
The Estates Team is responsible for managing repairing and maintaining a safe compliant and well-maintained estate with an unmatched customer service in comparison to any public sector organisation.
LBB Estates serves as a custodian of the councils land holdings and are the corporate landlord for all of the councils operational buildings responsible for ensuring that the councils assets are utilised in the most efficient way. The Estates team comprises of Building Services Property Services Facilities Management Optimisation Strategy and Requirements and Print and Mail.
The Energy Manager will join the Building Services team within Estates to monitor energy consumption energy efficiency technology reducing carbon where possible and produce effective report for management stakeholders and outside bodies.

About the role
The Energy Managers role will be to lead and support the London Borough of Barnets energy efficiency carbon reduction and sustainability strategies. The manager will further ensure that the council meets its energy performance targets reduces costs and complies with environmental legislation.
The salary range displayed in this advert is final and the successful candidate will be offered a salary within Grade K (between 54627 - 59739 depending on experience). Please do not apply if your salary expectations are above 59739 as we are unable to offer a salary outside of the Grade K range.
About you
The Energy Manager role is a dynamic position that require individuals to be highly motivated with an ability to work to deadlines. The Energy Manager will lead and support the London Borough of Barnets energy efficiency carbon reduction and sustainability strategies together with relevant utility procurement initiatives and other related strategies and policies. The manager will further ensure that the council meets its energy performance targets reduces costs and complies with environmental legislation.
The role supports the councils goal of achieving net zero carbon by 2042 (2030 for the council) by advising on energy efficiency carbon reduction and sustainability best practices. Responsibilities include providing professional guidance to council services and partners implementing energy and water usage monitoring and reporting on carbon reduction targets.
