Position: Full-Time Temporary (with potential to become permanent)
Pay Rate: 13.68 14.50 per hour (PAYE no umbrella fees)

A welcoming and supportive primary school in Gateshead is seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. This full-time role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of primary education and a passion for supporting pupils with additional needs including those requiring personal care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support particularly for pupils with SEND.

• Assist with daily classroom activities preparation of learning resources and supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons.

• Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being helping children to access learning in a safe and inclusive environment.

• Support children with personal care and mobility ensuring dignity and safeguarding at all times.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues parents and outside agencies to promote pupil development.

• Contribute to maintaining a stimulating and well-organised classroom setting.

Essential Requirements:

• Level 2Teaching Assistant Qualification (or equivalent).

• Recent experience working within a primary school setting ideally supporting children with SEND.

• Comfortable with personal care responsibilities (cleaning and changing where necessary).

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils staff and families.

• A nurturing resilient and proactive attitude.
