Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship - St Peters Catholic Primary School

St Peters Catholic Primary School is a two-form entry primary school situated near the centre of Gloucester City and the only Catholic primary school in Gloucester. We are a multi-cultural school which celebrates pupil diversity in a warm welcoming enriching and spiritual learning environment.
About the role
Key details:
- Working week:Monday to Friday 27.5 hrs per week shifts tbc Term-time only
- Wage:7.55 per hour
- Location:Horton Road Gloucester GL1 3PY
- Apprenticeship Standard:Level 3 Teaching Assistant
- Duration:16 months
Overview of the role:
To provide learning and well-being support for target pupils to overcome barriers to learning. This will involve working with teachers to plan and deliver learning activities and supporting the pupils with their personal development and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities:
- Support pupils learning independence and wellbeing fostering positive relationships and promoting high self-esteem and inclusion.
- Deliver small group and 1:1 interventions monitor progress and contribute to planning differentiated learning activities.
- Promote positive behaviour and implement effective behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
- Provide feedback on pupil progress and work with teachers to support learning goals.
- Support pupils with social emotional and mental health needs escalating concerns where appropriate.
- Communicate effectively with staff parents/carers and professionals to support informed decision-making and consistent provision.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and professionals within and beyond the school.
- Maintain a safe stimulating learning environment and support pupil participation in lessons and extracurricular activities.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and participate in appraisal processes.
- Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and promote the welfare of all pupils in line with statutory guidance and school policy.

Apprenticeship Summary:
- You will work towards your Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification across a total duration of 16 months!
- Training provider: LMP Group: online/remote learning no classroom or college day release
- An allocated tutor will support you throughout the apprenticeship!

Apprenticeship Overview
During this teaching assistant apprenticeship you will promote self-belief social inclusion and high self-esteem which will play an integral part to pupils wellbeing. You will become an essential part in the learning environment for the classroom teacher and pupils. Working to ensure pupils thrive in a positive nurturing and safe environment. It is an active role supporting the learner to access the curriculum and expand their knowledge. TAs play a crucial role in supporting teachers and pupils. Your work can have a significant impact on the childrens learning experiences helping them to succeed academically and personally.
