The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing comprehensive estimating efforts from conceptual budgets through final cost proposals. This includes interpreting construction documents performing detailed quantity take-offs managing subcontractor bids and producing precise estimates. The role involves leading preconstruction activities on both competitive and negotiated projects in close collaboration with clients architects designers and subcontractors.
Were looking for an experienced professional with 10 years in commercial construction estimating and a strong track record of collaboration across internal and external teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project documents-from early concept narratives to full drawing sets and RFPs.
- Lead preconstruction and estimating for negotiated and competitive bid projects.
- Prepare accurate detailed estimates proposals and RFP responses.
- Break down trades and oversee subcontractor bid coordination.
- Work with owners and design teams to ensure constructability and design alignment.
Technical Expertise:
- Proficient in ProEst Bluebeam Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Able to convert data into clear actionable reports.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings specifications and cost structures.
- Experienced with estimating tools and adaptable to new software.
- In-depth knowledge of Bay Area construction costs and subcontractor market.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Construction Management Quantity Surveying Architecture or Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of broad experience in construction estimating and project delivery.
