Surgical Technologist
- About Facility:
- Licensed for 457 beds
- Level 3 Trauma
- Stroke center of Excellence
- Bariatric center of Excellence
- Chest Pain Center
- Maternal Fetal Medicine Referral Center
- Radius rule: Travelers permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit
- Unit Information:
- Average census of 9-10 patients daily
- Beds: 13 labor beds 5 triage rooms
- Minimum Years of Experience required: 1 year of Surg Tech experience OB experience is required
- Will you accept a first-time traveler Yes
- Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
- High Risk Antepartum Labor Immediate Postpartum
- Active Labor Triage Pre-Eclampsia and other Hypertension disorders of pregnancy other common pregnancy/delivery conditions and complications
- Required License National Certification Certs (BLS ACLS etc.) or other position specific requirements such as Drivers License and/or Insurance:
- Surg Tech: BLS; Graduation from and accredited program required CST is strongly preferred
- Skills required:
- Surgical Tech: Ability to set up OR and maintain sterile technique throughout c-section deliveries; comfortability to assist physicians and team in vaginal deliveries
- Support within the Department:
- Secretary M-F 8-5
- Scrub Tech to assist in procedures
- OB Mentor
- Charge nurse 24/7
- Phlebotomy - In hospital
- IV/VAT Team - In hospital
- RT 24/7
- Hospitalist 24/7
- Intensivist 24/7
- OB Physicians
- Anesthesia/CRNA team
- Telemetry monitoring bedside and nurses station
- Technology/Equipment:
- EMR: EPIC
- IV Pump: Alaris
- Med dispensing: Omnicell
- Monitors: GE
- Unit specific equipment: Monica Novii Neptune
- Floating:
- None
- Orientation (facility and unit):
- NEO
- 2 days departmental
- Scheduling:
- Weekend rotation: every other
- No call required for travelers
- Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work holidays as scheduled
- RTO: Manager approval
