Job Description

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver Float provides direct care within residential group homes in Eugene/Springfield and will provide support to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD). This is a full time permanent position. 

This position requires a dependable candidate who is flexible in their schedule works well independently and has exceptional communication and decision-making skills.  Float DSPs are adaptable and will have the necessary skill set to be able to work at multiple homes. 

What Youll Do

  • Provide client care in a float capacity for schedules emergencies or fill-in assignments at designated residential homes
  • Enrich and support the lives of our residents while maintaining a safe and healthy environment   
  • Provide companionship and personalized care with respect and dignity while encouraging independence and self-care.   
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living including dressing bathing grooming toileting and eating.   
  • Implement positive behavior supports 
  • Prepare meals and snacks.  
  • Light household duties 
  • Provide mobility and transfer assistance which may include using mechanical lift devices.   
  • Assist with transportation needs for community outings appointments and errands 
  • Other duties as assigned   

Qualifications :

  • 1 years of DSP/Caregiving experience with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities is required.
  • Must have valid drivers license & vehicle to travel between programs and provide transportation to clients 
  • Must be able to work flexible hours (days/evenings)
  • Must be able and willing to learn different supports from medical to behavioral
  • Have a passion to help others 
  • Works well independently 
  • Dependable and adaptable
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills 
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions 
  • Must be able to provide references 
  • 18 years of age or older (required) 
  • Able to attend two weeks of PAID in-house orientation and training
