Access & Outreach (A&O) is part of Community Health Services and our mission is to reduce health inequities and disparities by connecting peopleespecially those in marginalized communitiesto public benefits and high-quality health care services. Our work focuses on four core functions: Identifying and Removing Barriers: We actively engage with community members to understand the challenges they face in accessing health care and enrolling in public benefit programs. We collaborate with state and city partners to address and remove these systemic barriers. Enrollment Assistance: We help residents enroll in vital programs such as health insurance ORCA LIFT Basic Food Energy Assistance and the Breast Cervical and Colon Health Program among others. Capacity Building: We support our community-based partners by offering training on benefit programs helping them navigate the system and advocating for clients who have been unfairly denied access to services. We also lead and sustain community-based networks focused on populations disproportionately affected by health disparities. Regional Leadership: We serve as the lead agency for Health Insurance and ORCA LIFT outreach and enrollment efforts across King Snohomish and Jefferson Counties ensuring cohesive and equitable access across the region. Through this work we are strengthening the regions safety net and building a more inclusive equitable health care systemone that truly serves all residents every day. Public Health Seattle & King County is looking for a Healthcare Navigator II to provide enrollment and outreach for various programs (e.g. health insurance ORCA Lift Basic Food Energy Assistance) to all resident in South King County with a focus on the Compact of Free Association (COFA) community. This position will also help residents enroll in other benefit programs including but not limited to: Breast Cervical Health Care and the King County Adult Dental program. In addition this position will help identify the barriers to enrollment and work with the Program Managers to implement strategies and systems to eliminate the barriers. Evening and weekend availability is required.
This position is subject to the Fair Labor Standards Act and is overtime eligible.
