Minimum Qualifications:
Associates degree in radiation therapy PLUS 2 years of experience in a healthcare environment OR Bachelors degree in radiation therapy
Current registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists as a radiation therapist with an accredited program of radiation therapy technology PLUS Current Licensure as a Radiation Therapist with the Arkansas Department of Health.
Current BLS certification or must successfully obtain certification within the first30 days of employment.

Responsibilities:
Positions patients for treatment with accuracy and administers doses of radiation to specific body parts using radiation therapy equipment according to physicians prescription and established practices and standards.
Monitors radiation therapy equipment to ensure proper operation and follows principles of radiation protection to ensure safety for patient self and others.
Reviews prescription diagnosis patient chart and identification.
Maintains required records reports and files including radiation dosages equipment settings and patients reaction.
Conducts treatment sessions independently in accordance with long term treatment plan and under the general direction of patients physician.
Inputs data into computer and sets controls to operate and adjust equipment or regulate dosage.
Observes and reassures patients during treatment and reports unusual reactions to physician.
Performs other duties as assigned.
