Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital opened on Jan. 24 1955 as a 238-bed community hospital. Today the hospital is a 1101-bed major academic and referral center with Level I adult trauma and Level II pediatric trauma designations. Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital has 43 residency and fellowship programs with 454 residents and fellows. Corewell is the exclusive clinical partner of the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine with more than 1400 Beaumont doctors on faculty.
Scope to Work
Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations consisting of: Two-dimensional imaging spectral and color flow Doppler m-mode; trans esophageal; exercise and pharmacologic echocardiograms; saline and left ventricular opacification studies on adult patients. Instruction of medical personnel in the technical performance clinical application and cardiac pathology as it pertains to cardiac ultrasound. May act as a mentor/preceptor for other Ultrasonographers and/or students.
This is a Cardiac Ultrasound position; only RDCS ACS or RCS credential is required.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements: Completion of an accredited Cardiac Ultrasound program and/or significant clinical experiences as determined by the department.
Preferred requirements: Bachelors degree
Preferred: Minimum of two years (full-time) experience in the performance of all cardiac ultrasound procedures for adults.
RDCS or CCI (no exemption accepted must pass both parts of exam) status is required by department.
Required: BCLS
Analytical problem-solving is essential to optimize and enhance image acquisition for physicians interpretation.
Computer literacy is required.
Professionalism and communication/interpersonal skills are critical.
Cooperative team oriented flexible and self-motivated individual with a positive attitude are qualities essential to successfully fulfill job responsibilities.
